3 steps to get started
- 1
Create an OpenRouter account
Go to openrouter.ai and create a free account. It's the service Pictoria uses to access Google's AI to generate your photos.
The 'Sign up with Google' button is the fastest: no new password to remember.

Top up your account
Top up your OpenRouter account (from 5 EUR, 10 EUR recommended to get started). This credit will be used each time you generate a photo in Pictoria.
5 EUR = around 25 photos, 10 EUR = around 50 photos. Top up whenever you want, no commitment.

Connect your OpenRouter account inside Pictoria
In Pictoria, go to Settings > My Account. In the 'OpenRouter connection' section, click the 'Connect OpenRouter' button. An OpenRouter window opens and asks if you allow Pictoria to use your credit to generate your photos: you confirm, that's it. Your balance appears immediately in Pictoria.
No key to copy and paste. Just like 'Sign in with Google', but for OpenRouter. The 'Connect my OpenRouter account' button at the bottom of this page takes you straight to that section inside Pictoria.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect my OpenRouter account?
Yes, your connection is protected. Pictoria never stores your OpenRouter password. OpenRouter itself recognizes you directly, exactly like when you click 'Sign in with Google' on other sites. Pictoria just gets permission to draw from your credit, and that permission is kept safely on our servers (no one can read it, not even us). You can withdraw it at any time from your OpenRouter account.
Why not a classic subscription?
During this testing phase, we want to be fully transparent about costs. You pay what a photo costs you on OpenRouter (around 20 cents, fees and taxes included), Pictoria takes nothing on top. Later, an all-inclusive subscription will be offered for those who prefer not to manage an account on another service, but this option will remain available.
How much will I actually pay?
Around 20 cents per generated photo on average (fees and taxes included). The exact rate varies slightly with what the AI needs to generate (a clothing item alone costs less than a full scene with a mannequin and background). With 5 EUR of credit you generate roughly 25 photos. You can see your balance in real time inside Pictoria so you can pace yourself.
What happens when my credit runs out?
Your generations pause until you top up your OpenRouter account. No surprise charge: you decide when and how much to top up.
Can I change my OpenRouter account?
Yes, anytime. In Settings > My Account, you disconnect your current OpenRouter account, then connect a different one. No service interruption.
What happens when my 6 free months run out?
You will have the choice: either you keep using your OpenRouter account under the same conditions, or you switch to a Pictoria all-inclusive subscription that will be available at that time. No commitment now, you decide later.
Ready to get started?
A few minutes to get everything ready. As soon as your OpenRouter account is connected to Pictoria, you can generate your first photo.
